The Shelter of God's Promises by Sheila Walsh is one of the most inspiring and encouraging Christian books I have read in several years. I have always been a fan of Sheila Walsh after attending several Women of Faith conferences. I love her wit and her beautiful Scottish accent, and this book was so easy to read and so inviting, I almost felt as if I could hear Sheila's voice reading these truths to me. Each chapter of the book highlights a different one of God's promises....God's love, his provision, His peace, etc. Each chapter includes scripture to highlight the promise and to make God's word relevant to everyday life. Sheila's beautiful metaphors and eloquent writing meant that I highlighted several areas in the book so some of her nuggets of wisdom would stick with me and could be referred to later. I even shared a few of her quotes on facebook! Sheila is a beautiful woman, inside and out, and this book is another way her beautiful spirit is ministering to women everywhere. I would recommend it to my friends without hesitation and even plan to loan it to my sister to encourage her.
